What does CBT or ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ actually mean? How does CBT help with Stress, Self Esteem, Loss, Grief, Addictions, Obsessions etc?
CBT is a structured and focused way of working in a counselling relationship – where your thoughts or cognitions are explored and perhaps challenged? Sometimes we have very rigid ways of thinking.
Your subsequent ‘behaviour’ is often explored too.
Your behaviour is … what you do! as a result of what you think about, as a result of how you might be feeling.
CBT is an extremely effective way of focusing and structuring a counselling session. Aiming directly at the problem areas. So that we quickly find out ‘precisely’ what’s affecting you and to what intensity and in what areas?
This will help you to discover just exactly how you might go about altering your current thoughts and behaviours. Especially if you’re perhaps not too happy with the outcome of them at the moment.
Such as; angry responses, jealousy, self critical thoughts or low self esteem. To name just a few … There are obviously many negative ways of thinking …

Structuring a session; just enables us to Tune into your problem in a ‘focused way’, so that your issue is ameliorated as swiftly as is possible. So that it’s manageable for you more quickly.In as shorter time as is possible which is comfortable for you.
But working at a pace that suits you and your needs.
